Educators participate in evaluation training
OPES
Educators attended the first in a series of summer training events, beginning on May 31 at the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center, in New Boston.

The two-day "Ohio Principal Evaluator Training" (OPES) workshop allows first-time participants to become official evaluators. Training audience includes superintendents, building administrators, and anyone evaluated with this system. The session was hosted by ESC Curriculum Supervisor Tammy Hambrick and OPES Trainer Dawn Wallace.

“Administrators and teachers in Ohio are required to attend and complete official state training in order to evaluate teachers, counselors, and administrators in the state of Ohio, so we offer a series of trainings in order to make sure our school personnel have all of their requirements met,” Hambrick said.

Upcoming training workshops include:

• "Ohio School Counselor Evaluator Training" (OSCES) -- July 31, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the South Central Ohio ESC in New Boston. This is an official one-day training for first-time participants to become official evaluators and is not a re-calibration. Training audience includes superintendents, building administrators, central office staff or school counselors. Cost of the training is $85 per participant.

• "Ohio Teacher Evaluator Training" (OTES) -- Aug. 7-9, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the South Central Ohio ESC in New Boston. This is an official three-day training for first-time participants to become official evaluators and is not a re-calibration. Training audience includes superintendents, building administrators, and anyone evaluated with this system.
