The South Central Ohio Educational Service Center, in New Boston, Ohio, has hired Stacey Thacker as Director of Family Outreach position.
The Director of Family Outreach position is an extension of the Family and Children First Council, responsible for wrap-around service coordination to help local families receive the most assistance available to them.
“I’m looking forward working with families to get as many resources together for kids that are involved in multiple systems – whether it’s juvenile court or a mental health diagnosis – and trying to keep them in their home and in school,” Thacker said.
She has a master’s degree in social work and has worked with children and families for more than 25 years.
“We are excited at the ESC to bring Stacey’s level of expertise with wrap-around services and working with our local school districts,” ESC Superintendent Sandy Mers said.
Soon, Thacker said, she hopes to have more family resources and information available online, at www.scoesc.org. In the meantime, families can contact Thacker at Stacey.Thacker@scoesc.org or 740-351-0281, or find her located in the Carousel Center located 1112 Gallia St., in Portsmouth.
