ESC wins ‘Best of the Best’ at Achievement Awards
The South Central Ohio Educational Service Center, in New Boston, Ohio, carried home four awards from the annual Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) Achievement Awards. The awards luncheon was hosted at Nationwide Conference Center, in Lewis Center, Ohio, on March 23, as part of the 2017 OHSPRA Spring Conference.
Ryan Ottney, ESC director of communications, accepted the awards for Mark of Distinction for Website, Mark of Distinction for Print Newsletter, Mark of Excellence for Video, and Best of the Best for writing.
“I am very honored, and I would like to thank OHSPRA for this recognition,” Ottney said. “I would also like to thank the ESC administration and governing board for allowing the freedom to explore new and creative ways to communicate our message. It’s always exciting to share the wonderful stories from our schools and programs.”
The ESC was unable to attend the conference in Lewis Center, and the awards will be presented by OHSPRA President-Elect Patrick Gallaway in May during an ESC Communications Workshop for local school districts.
Ottney was hired in 2015 to establish the newly-created ESC communications office. In addition to his OHSPRA awards, he is a past-recipient of the Ohio School Boards Association Media Honor Roll, Ohio Associated Press Media Editors Award, Ohio Public Image Award, and Lifeline of Ohio Infinity Award – among others.
