Scioto County Honors Music Festival
The Scioto County Honors Music Festival is a long-standing tradition which has taken place for the past 74 years. Local Jr. High and High School music students audition to become part of the Honors Band or Choir and are given the opportunity to learn from their peers, other music directors and a visiting Guest Conductor.

Senior students who have participated in the Honors Music Festival for at least two years may also audition for a $1,000 Music Scholarship (there is one offered for band and one offered for choir each year). The winners of the Scholarship Awards are announced during the Music Festival final performance.

The 2017 Honors Music Festival will take place on March 7 at Shawnee State University's Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $5.00 each and may be purchased at the door. The Jr. High band will perform at 6:45 p.m. and the High School performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.
